A nonprovisional patent application is a patent application which is submitted following a provisional filing, having at least one patent claim particularly pointing out and distinctly defining the invention. A patent with more claims is considered stronger and more valuable as a broad general rule, however this also means that the patent prosecution process will be complex and lengthy.
