The JPO is responsible for appropriating granting of industrial property rights, including trademarks, patents, copyrights and domain names, drafting of industrial property-related measures, promotion of international harmonization and assistance to developing nations, reviews of the industrial property rights system, implementation of support measures designed for SMEs and universities, and improvement in industrial property-related information services.
